Attorney Tammie Gildea has practiced in New London County since 1990. She graduated from the University of Connecticut in 1983 and from the University of Connecticut School of Law in 1990. She was admitted to the Connecticut bar in 1990 and to the Federal bar in 1992.
After working for a small local firm, Attorney Gildea established her own practice in December of 1992. At first, she provided a wide range of legal services for her clients, including personal injury, probate, real estate, criminal, family and juvenile law and bankruptcy. Over the last several years, however, she has concentrated her practice in the area of family law, including divorce, child support, custody, visitation and abuse and neglect. She also has a fairly extensive bankruptcy practice, although she has recently ceased taking new clients in this area so as to allow her to devote more time to her family law practice.
Attorney Gildea is well known for the emphasis she places on the best interests of children. In addition, she serves as a Special Master for family matters for the Connecticut Superior Court.
