“Educating and empowering divorcing or separating clients to make the right choices for themselves and their families so they can move forward with their lives.”

Practice Philosophy:
In Attorney Cappalli, a client seeks an ally, a guide, an advisor, a creative thinker and an advocate. Most want a result that feels “fair”, is timely and is achieved while preserving personal relationships.

Attorney Cappalli’s goal is to help clients move forward with your lives by:

  • Listening to your concerns, fears and dreams
  • Helping you identify, prioritize and voice your interests
  • Creating financial and parenting options
  • Assessing and analyzing choices
  • Educating, guiding and advising you
  • Implementing your decisions

Education and Experience:
A graduate of Cornell Law School, Attorney Cappalli has practiced family law as a trial attorney, divorce mediator and collaborative lawyer for more than twenty years.

Distinctions:
Attorney Cappalli has been honored with Phi Beta Kappa and MENSA memberships and as a Connecticut Magazine “Super Lawyer”. Through service as a Special Master for the statewide custody court, the State of Connecticut has recognized Attorney Cappalli’s expertise as both trial attorney and mediator. Attorney Cappalli educates Connecticut citizens through guest appearances on television and radio and her newspaper columns.

Professional Commitment:
“Experience as a trial attorney has proven to me that divorce and custody trials are financially and emotionally devastating to the divorcing or separating couple and their children. On the other hand, non-adversarial dispute resolution processes such as mediation or collaboration are private, respectful and encourage creative solutions. I am committed to educating and empowering each client to increase the likelihood of achieving their legitimate goals through non-adversarial means and without court interference.”

Personal:
Attorney Cappalli resides in Cheshire with her husband and son. She is a wife, mother, stepmother, aunt, sister and daughter. Attorney Cappalli enjoys spending time with her family, travel and sports.
